Inbounding goods into our fulfillment facilities requires careful attention to packaging, labeling, and shipping procedures. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough of the process to ensure your goods are safely and efficiently processed upon arrival.
Packaging Guidelines
Choosing the Right Box
The first step in preparing your goods for inbound delivery is selecting the right box. We recommend using a sturdy, six-sided box with intact flaps. If you're reusing a box from a previous shipment, ensure all old shipping labels, ba
rcodes, or shipment markings are removed or covered. This prevents confusion during the processing of your goods.
Label Placement
Proper label placement is crucial for efficient processing. Place shipping labels on the top or side of the box, ensuring they are easily visible. Avoid placing labels on the box seam, as they could get damaged when the box is opened. Also, labels should not be placed closer than 3 cm from any edge of the box. This prevents them from being accidentally cut or torn during handling.
Advance Ship Notice (ASN)
Every package must have a label or manually written information about the Advance Ship Notice (ASN). The ASN is created in our Mailship.com platform and includes important information such as the number of items, SKUs, etc. This information is crucial for the efficient processing and tracking of your goods.
Packing Your Items
When packing your items, use appropriate packing materials to prevent movement during transit. Bubble wrap, full sheets of paper, inflatable air cushions, or polyethylene foam wrap are all good options. These materials provide cushioning and protect your items from damage. Avoid using foam peanuts, corrugated wrap, shredded paper, or thermocol beads, as these materials can cause issues during processing.
After packing, gently shake the box. The contents should not move. If they do, add more packing material to secure the items.
Shipping Labels
Each shipping label should be unique. Do not duplicate or reuse labels. Each box should have its own distinct label to ensure accurate tracking and processing. If you're reusing boxes, make sure to remove or cover any old labels, barcodes, or shipment markings.
Oversized Items
For items exceeding 20 kg, attach a label clearly indicating "Team Lift" on the top and side of the box. This alerts our team members that the box requires multiple people to lift safely. For items exceeding 40 kg, attach a label indicating "Mechanical Lift" on the top and sides of the box. This indicates that a mechanical device, like a forklift, is needed to move the box.
Box Dimensions and Weight
Boxes containing multiple standard-sized items or oversized items should not exceed 60 cm on any side. Boxes can only exceed this limit if they contain oversized units that measure more than 60 cm.
Boxes should not weigh more than 20 kg in total, unless they contain a single oversized item that exceeds these limits. Accurately weighing and measuring your boxes ensures they meet our requirements and helps prevent delays during processing.
